Getting a speeding ticket already puts you a little on edge. You’re thinking about the fine, your record, maybe even insurance going up. So when I woke up the next morning to a text saying there was a warrant out for my arrest, it hit way harder than it probably should have. For a second, it felt real.

The message came with an image that looked like some kind of official document. It said I had 24 hours to comply or I’d be arrested without bail. That kind of language is meant to scare you, and honestly, it worked at first. But once I actually looked at it, things started to fall apart. The Nevada seal didn’t look right at all. It had that slightly off, almost but not quite real look that a lot of AI generated images have. The formatting was weird too, like someone tried to copy what a legal document should look like without actually knowing.

What really gave it away was the QR code. The message told me to scan it to take care of everything. That’s not how anything official works. Courts and law enforcement don’t text you threats and then send you to a QR code to fix it. The whole thing was built to rush me into acting before I had time to think.

Looking back, it’s pretty clear what they were doing. They caught me at a moment where I was already a little stressed because of the ticket, then turned that into something bigger and more urgent. That’s the whole strategy. Make it feel immediate, make it feel serious, and hope you don’t question it.

Scams like this are getting more convincing, especially with AI making it easier to create realistic-looking documents. But they still rely on the same basic trick, which is panic. Once you slow down and actually look at what’s in front of you, it usually starts to unravel.

  1. That is quite scary! Getting a warrant is terrifying. The QR was definitely a dead giveaway. Always check the official cite and do your research. The same thing happened to me with a parking ticket!

  2. Sounds like your modeling career is really expanding into action thriller territory 😭 but on a serious note the QR code “escape your arrest” button is wild. Glad you found out before it turned into episode 2.

    • Yeah i learned if it was official then my info would be on the document sent with a court date or collection date too
